First under the baton of our new Music Director, Travis Jürgens

 

 

A Russian Celebration

 - Sunday, October 3, 2010, 3 pm

 

For his debut with the Philharmonia, Maestro Jürgens has chosen the romantic passion of Russia. The program will include Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23, featuring Yuntian Liu, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36.

 

 

Christmas On the River

- Saturday, December 4, 2010, 3 pm

 

An annual tradition, the Kansas City Children’s Choir will join the Philharmonia in a seasonal concert that will include Anderson’s Sleigh Ride and Christmas Festival, as well as a new work, White Winter, by Nathanael Pangrazio.

 

 

Musical Animals and Fairytales

- Sunday, March 27, 2011, 3 pm

 

The Kansas City Youth Ballet will join forces for this concert. The program will include Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. This concert is Free.

 

 

Tour of Europe

- Sunday, May 1, 2011, 3 pm

 

The season finale is always an exciting concert. This year it will include Sebelius’ Finlandia, Op. 26, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120.

 

 

All concerts are performed in Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the campus of Park University unless otherwise noted.

 

Admission is charged for all concerts unless marked Free.
